I have always been interested in the medium of stained glass. My school offers two stained glass courses, one where you make a simple, two dimensional piece meant to hang in front of a window and catch the light and another where you make a three dimensional lamp. For my first piece, I made a light catcher which features an old cellphone from the 1980s surrounded by jewel toned pieces of glass. My second piece was a four panel lamp which features two goldfish chasing each other. Stained glass is definitely a hobby that I would like to continue to pursue if I am able to. I think there is something kind of beautiful about how it is a medium that has been around for thousands of years, and how even modern day stained glass pieces somehow contain an element of the past.
